Lil Uzi Vert

Lil Yachty
And we definitely can't forget...Desiigner.
All I hear from people are statements like, "Hip hop is dead." Apparently our generation doesn't have any talent whatsoever. There are absolutely no good rappers out. None. Zero. Zilch. Now I could write an essay on why those generalized statements are bullshit but I'll keep it short.
Why are we even categorizing these dudes as "hip hop?" Seriously though. When did we start expecting "rappers" with mediocre at best lyrical prowess and the enunciation equivalent of a keyboard smash to give us mind-blowing verses?
We have many amazing rappers to listen to. There are young emcees keeping hip hop culture alive. If you don't believe me check these mixtape sites. Check SoundCloud. There's a lot of discovered and undiscovered talent on there to prove my point. Why do we keep listening to a few mumble rappers and proclaiming that hip hop is deceased as fuck?
Take these guys as what they are. Entertainment. The sole purpose of their music is to entertain people. You "turn up" to it. That's it. Now I'm not excusing that ridiculous amount of trash we get exposed to, but I'm not going to disrespect the ridiculous amount of TALENT that the new school has either. Take the bad with the good and move on.
I promise you that if you don't even throw them in the emcee category you'll be a lot less pissed off at the state of rap. And turn off the radio too.
